La época actual se caracteriza por el incremento de las tecnologías de información, las cuales se han convertido en el motor del desarrollo económico y social. Las actividades de información juegan un papel en el cambio económico de la sociedad contemporánea que transita de una etapa industrial a una postindustrial o de información. Este artículo intenta mostrar si en México está tomando lugar tal transición del sector servicios al de la sociedad de la información, para lo cual se recopilaron, seleccionaron y analizaron las actividades relacionadas con la información a partir de dos variables: personal empleado en el ámbito de la información y el producto interno bruto generado por éste. |

The present time is characterized by an increase in information technologies that have become the motor of social and economic development. Information activities have had a role in the economic change of the present society which is moving from an industrial stage to a post-industrial or information society. This paper will try to show whether Mexico is liable to follow this transition from the sector services to an information society. Having this in mind, activities related with information were selected and compiled and then analyzed considering two viewpoints: personnel hired in the information field and the gross internal product. |
